KMEA announces November 1st as date for State Marching Band Championship.

The 2008 KMEA - State Marching Band Championship will be held at Louisville’s Papa Johns Stadium on November 1.  The Regional Quarter Finals will be held on Saturday, October 25.   The available dates for KMEA sanctioned contests are Aug. 16, 23, Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27 and  Oct. 4, 11, 18.

The United States Navy Band in Murray, February 18.

The United States Navy Band from Washington DC is performing in Lovett Auditorium on the campus of Murray State University Monday, Feb 18th 7:00PM.

Fran Kick Seminar, July 11 at Henderson County

On Friday afternoon, July 11, Fran Kick will be presenting a student leadership seminar at Henderson County High School.  This session is perfect for drum majors, section leaders, seniors, etc.  Fran is nationally known for his work with students, he is the primary teacher at the BOA Summer Symposium’s Leadership Weekend!  You can learn a lot more about him and his presentations at http://www.kickitin.com/music.html.

The session will go from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm with thirty-minute lunch break.  Registration is $30 per student, that price includes lunch.  If you have any questions or want a registration form, please contact Steven Page at Steven.Page@henderson.kyschools.us.
